Jamie Grace Follows Impressive Debut and GRAMMY®-Nominated Hit “Hold Me” with New Single “Beautiful Day” on Gotee Records

Less than 24 hours upon its debut, “Beautiful Day” peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes® Christian & Gospel Songs Chart

Jamie to join TobyMac, Colton Dixon, Mandisa and others on

HITS Deep Tour 2013 this fall

Nashville, Tenn. (July 24, 2013) – GRAMMY®-nominee and Best New Artist GMA Dove Award winner Jamie Grace has released her follow up single to the smash hit success of “Hold Me.” The single, titled “Beautiful Day, is available from Gotee Records beginning now at all digital outlets. The song reunites Jamie with producer/songwriter Christopher Stevens under the direction of TobyMac and will be a part of her forthcoming new album to release later this year. Less than 24 hours upon its release, “Beautiful Day” jumped to the No. 1 spot on the iTunes® Christian & Gospel Songs Chart. Accompanying the single, Jamie has also released a lyric video for “Beautiful Day” that combines her performance of the song with animated hand drawn lyrics and imagery here: http://smarturl.it/JGBeautifulDay.

“I’m still having a hard time processing the response to ‘Hold Me,’ the song I started in my dorm room,” says Jamie. “The past few years have been absolutely incredible and I feel so blessed to have the privilege of sharing even more music. ‘Beautiful Day,’ although a fun song, has a message saying that in spite of what we’re going through, every day is a good day and an incredible gift because God made it. In my young life I’ve learned that every day can begin with worshipping my Creator.”

The breakout success of her previous GRAMMY®-nominated, No. 1 smash hit “Hold Me (feat. TobyMac)” assisted in propelling Jamie to win her first GMA Dove Award—for New Artist of the Year—last year, in addition to a Billboard Music Award nomination. As a result, in part of the huge success of “Hold Me,” she has experienced a major wave of acclaim and popularity in the last few years, that is evident in her YouTube’s channel combined 13 million views and even finding her making an appearance on ABC’s hit talk show ‘The View.” This fall, Jamie will appear on the silver screen with the release of the LIONSGATE® film GRACE UNPLUGGED, an entertaining story of a talented teenager rising in the music industry led by AJ Michalka (Super 8, The Lovely Bones), James Denton (Desperate Housewives), and Kevan Pollak (A Few Good Men).

Jamie Grace will be a featured guest on TobyMac’s “HITS Deep Tour 2013,” making stops across the country in November and December. The “HITS Deep Tour” 2013 will also include Brandon Heath, Mandisa, Colton Dixon, Chris August and Capital Kings. To view her complete tour schedule, visit www.jamiegrace.com.

21-year old singer-songwriter Jamie Grace hails from outside of Atlanta in Lithonia, Georgia. At age 11, she was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and has since traveled the country sharing her story and faith through music and speaking. Her career made a remarkable debut with the help of multiple GRAMMY® winner, TobyMac who signed her to Gotee Records. During the time of the release of her debut project, One Song at a Time, Jamie balanced her time between her career as a touring artist and college. Winter Jam Tour–Jamie Grace Review

I think Jamie Grace deserves major props for being the lone female artist representing at Winter Jam. For only being 21, she really went out there and killed it with the poise and grace of someone 10 years her senior. My BFF Sarah and I agreed that she really deserved something special for this review, and Sarah jokingly said (at least I’m pretty sure she was joking) that I should write an ‘ode’ to Jamie Grace. Traditionally, I think an ode was either a poem or a song, and believe me, Jamie Grace (along with the rest of the free world) does not want me writing or singing a song; a poem, however, I thought I could do.

So, for this review of Jamie Grace’s Winter Jam performance I have written the first ever (and only one I ever intend to write) acrostic poem for Spin: The Blog. It’s pretty bad, but that should in no way reflect poorly on Jamie Grace; I thought she was really great at Winter Jam! Maybe I should have tried writing a limerick instead…

J-is for Jazzy, so lively and bright
A-is for Artistic, with natural skill
M-is for Music, her gift to the world
I-is for Irresistible, her music, that is
E-is for Effervescent, so bubbly and sweet

G-is for God’s Girl, from the top of her head to the soles of her feet
R-is for Radiant, God’s light shining in her
A-is for Awesome; need I say more?
C-is for Christian, the heart of who she is
E-is for Eclectic, a fun mix of randomness

And there you have it: What is most likely the world’s worst acrostic poem ever! At least I took a few good pictures…enjoy them!

Winter Jam Pick #7–Jamie Grace’s Hold Me

I was pretty darn fortunate to be able to see Jamie Grace in concert as part of TobyMac’s Hits Deep Tour just a little over a month ago, and I’m really looking forward to seeing her be the sole representative of the ladies at Winter Jam this year.  Based on what I saw in December, I know she’ll do us girls proud 🙂

Here’s the thing that impressed me the most about Jamie Grace, particularly in reference to the song, Hold Me–in a Q&A Session prior to the Hits Deep tour, Jamie admitted to receiving some flack from the mothers of the world for the songs she writes because she is a role model for girls and young ladies.

Jamie said (and I’m loosely quoting here), “Why do people assume that I’m writing about boys?  Why can’t my songs be written about my love for Jesus?”

Maybe I’m just super smart, but some how I kind of sensed that her songs were about Jesus; and as far as I’m concerned, I hope that she keeps using whatever formula she uses to write and sing songs like she does now, one song at a time 🙂

Jamie Grace is not only wildly talented, but has a depth of character and level of maturity that is rare among 21 year olds.  Because of this, I’m really rooting for her, and praying that big God things will come her way in the new year!

I Officially Declare Next Sunday…Winter Jam!

Winter Jam

So if you live in the currently cold and dreary Fort Wayne, Indiana or surrounding area, I bet I know what you are thinking about today 🙂

Winter Jam is less than 1 week away!!

Personally, I think Winter Jam day in Fort Wayne should be declared an official holiday (as well as the day after Winter Jam, because really, who wants to go to work after having that much fun the night before?  It could be dangerous to a person’s health…well, it could!)

I know out of the 365 days in a calendar year, the days I look forward to the most are as follows:

  1. Christmas
  2. Easter
  3. Winter Jam

As you might imagine, I’m starting to get pretty excited right about now.  Also making me super-duper excited this year for Winter Jam is the sweet line-up, which includes not just one of my favorites, not two, not even three, but four of my very favorite performers from 2013.  (For those of you wondering, I’m talking about the Sidewalk Prophets, Mr. TobyMac, Matthew West, and Royal Tailor.)

Since I’ll probably be twiddling most of my week away daydreaming about the upcoming Winter Jam, I have decided that I might as well do something productive with my time and write a countdown this week of the songs/performances I am most looking forward to next Sunday at Winter Jam at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Which song/performers will come out on top as my #1 pick?  Will it be Matthew West?  The Sidewalk Prophets?  Or perhaps the master showman himself, Mr. TobyMac?

Yeah, I’m not telling.  You’ll have to wait until next week to find out.

In the meantime, however, you’ll be able to enjoy some fun snippets from me about my favorite songs.  I’ll also share the tunes on Spotify and the official videos via YouTube.  You can also take a minute and vote for your favorite song/performers at Winter Jam !

Enjoy…and if you’re in Fort Wayne, I’ll see you next Sunday!

The complete line up for the WFRN Friend Fest was announced this morning and it’s spectacular!  I didn’t think WFRN could top last year, and I for sure didn’t think the line-up could possibly get much better after hearing the line-up of stellar headliners planned.  I love it when I’m wrong!  Here’s a complete breakdown of who’s coming…I think you’ll see many of my favorites on this list!

  1. TobyMac
  2. Matthew West
  3. Building 429
  4. Peter Furler
  5. Big Daddy Weave
  6. Kari Jobe
  7. Jamie Grace
  8. for King & Country (YESSS!!!)
  9. Rhett Walker Band
  10. Moriah Peters
  11. Finding Favour
  12. Hyland (Yay!)
  13. The Neverclaim
  14. Mosteller

Seriously, the WFRN Fest was my favorite festival I went to last year for a lot of reasons.  Amish Acres is beautiful, the whole thing was incredibly well-run, and the food and beverages were the cheapest I’ve seen anywhere.  (Need I mention they had David Crowder, Casting Crowns, Tenth Avenue North, Sanctus Real, and the Sidewalk Prophets in the line-up?)

I’ve already put in on my calendar for 2013 and bought my $29 two-day pass…you should too!
